I don’t know about where you live, but here it got COLD today. And if you know me, you will know that I absolutely, positively, despise cold weather. I think it stems from the fact that I don’t regulate my body heat very well (I blame the case of rosieola from when I was a baby for frying my hypothalamus gland, and I spent a good portion of my childhood stationed with my family in North Dakota thanks to the USAF, and talk about cold…)
So, as promised, here is my first ever giveaway! It goes well with the cold weather. It is indeed red, warm and fuzzy! Have any ideas as to what it is?
No, it isn’t an Irish Setter puppy (Puppies awfully cute though, aren’t they?)……………………………
It is a hand crocheted winter scarf!
That’s right, a hand crocheted scarf by your’s truly 🙂 I thought it would be a great first giveaway, to celebrate my blogs first birthday (a wee bit late, but only by like two weeks or so….) and the fact that it is time to chase the cold away.
So, how do you enter? you ask. Easy. First, leave a comment on my blog telling me about a favorite memory or a family tradition that takes place when the temperatures plummet (this is the mandatory first entry, do not do the others if you haven’t done this first). If you would like extra entries, you can do any of the following:
Become a follower on Google Friend Connect, and leave me two separate comments telling me you did it (if you are already, great, you’ve saved yourself a step)
Follow me on Networked Blogs and leave two more separate comments telling me that you’ve done so.
Leave a comment on any other post of this blog, and leave one extra comment telling me that you’ve done so (may be done twice).
And if you are desperate to win this lovely scarf (By the way, my eldest loves it and has hugged it many times today to send love to the winner), you can blog about this contest on your own site and leave four extra separate, comments telling me that you’ve done so and include the permalink to your post.
If you do it all, that gives you eleven entries into this giveaway.
Now, when you comment, please leave at least your first name, and a way to reach you for when I need to contact the winner. Email addresses are collected when you comment, and show up in my moderation panel, so you don’t have to publicly post them (they are kept private, and I promise not to sell them.), so please use the email address you will have the greatest chance of checking to see if you’ve won. After I post the winner online and emailed them, you will have 48 hours to get back to me with your mailing address so I can get this scarf to you before it gets much colder. If I haven’t heard from you before the time is up, I will choose a new winner. If you live in a more temperate climate, this would make a lovely gift this Christmas to someone who lives in the frozen north. This giveaway is open now until December 10, 2010. A winner will be chosen using Random.org and I will email the winner via email that evening, and post it on the blog. Unfortunately, I can only ship to an address in the United States, and you can blame the cost of postage on that. If anyone internationally wishes to enter you can have the scarf sent to someone state side, and if you want, I’ll include a note telling the recipient of your generous gift (or if you have a forwarding agent, I’ll gladly send it to them to take care of).
So, thank you for bearing with me, thank you for entering and good luck!.
