Hi! I’m so glad you found me. I pray you find encouragement here.
I’m a 30+ year-old wife and mommy who has what she thinks is the greatest job ever; that of a stay-at-home wife and mommy. We currently have been blessed with two precious girls.
The eldest is the Bug and she loves earthworms, anything pink and the sandbox. She is getting ready to enter a combo of first and second grade this fall. She can’t wait. Bugs also loves to help me bake cookies. We love reading together and she already loves the Little House books.
Our second daughter is the Beans. She got her knick name because she was so long when she was born and is still very tall for her age. She loves dresses, but they must be blue and she is infatuated with clown fish. Beans is very much a prissy girl (she hates bugs) but she is also very much a tomboy. She is starting kindergarten this year.
I’ve been married for seven years to Hubbs. He’s the greatest husband I could have ever hoped for. He is kind, gentle, knows when to push me and when to back off. He encouraged me to stat a blog so I could have a creative outlet. I thank God for giving me him daily.
I’m a conservative Christian. I believe that whenever possible it is best if mom can stay home with the kids (I’ve taught school and worked in a day care so yes, I have seen the behavior issues first hand. Along with the kids crying for their mommies daily and being called mommy by a few as I was with them more than their own were). We are a homeschooling family. We believe that God gave parents the authority to raise and educate their children and we don’t want to delegate that authority to a school system that will not teach our children the world view and values we want instilled in them.
I’m kind of a crunchy person. I believe in homebirthing and living as naturally as possible. However, I don’t go as far as to use toilet cloth instead of toilet paper. We do use cloth diapers and such though.
I am a bit of a book worm. I love to read. I review for Thomas Nelson and Bethany House. The only thing better than reading is getting new books for free.
At times I’m a bit of a romantic. I love candle light. And I have this weird love of crocheted and embroidered pillow cases. I like antique linens, however I can’t indulge that love on our budget or with young children living in our home. Totally impractical.
